Barton Gold begins sterilisation drilling at Tunkillia project

Barton Gold has commenced a sterilisation drilling program at its Tunkillia gold and silver project in South Australia. The program aims to test potential locations for critical infrastructure, such as processing plants, waste dumps, and tailings storage facilities, to ensure they are not situated over valuable mineralisation.

This initiative follows the completion of over 57,000 metres of resource upgrade drilling. The company is currently working toward a pre-feasibility study (PFS) and a mining lease application. An optimised scoping study released in May 2025 indicated the project could produce approximately 120,000 ounces of gold and 260,000 ounces of silver annually.

Managing Director Alexander Scanlon noted that recent drilling has revealed positive surprises in certain zones, offering potential upside. The project’s starter pit models suggest significant operating cash flow potential during the initial stages of production.
