Barton Gold Nears Completion of 40,000 m Tunkillia Phase 2 Drilling; PFS Targeted for 2027
Barton Gold Holdings Limited is completing about 40,000 metres of Phase 2 reverse‑circulation drilling at its Tunkillia Gold Project in South Australia. The program has infilled Area 223 North and the southern section of the main Area 223 optimised open pit, delivering several notable gold intersections.
Key assay results include a 29‑metre interval grading 1.24 g/t Au from 48 m depth (with 4 m at 4.08 g/t) and a 19‑metre interval grading 1.34 g/t Au from 149 m depth (with 4 m at 2.85 g/t). Additional intersections such as 16 m at 1.15 g/t Au from 134 m depth and 20 m at 1.24 g/t Au from 205 m depth were also reported. Phase 1 and Phase 2 results have further infilled the high‑value S1/S2 pits and identified broader, higher‑grade extensions in Area 51.
A pre‑feasibility study (PFS) for Tunkillia, led by GR Engineering, is underway and is targeted for completion in the first quarter of calendar year 2027. Barton expects the completed drilling program and the PFS to support upgrades to its gold and silver mineral resources, building on an existing JORC‑reported resource of roughly 2.2 Moz Au and 3.1 Moz Ag. Managing Director Alexander Scanlon said the assays confirm broad mineralisation and potential quantity and grade improvements across multiple zones.
