Former health minister and KO MP Bartosz Arłukowicz sparked a media uproar after comparing post‑mortem CT scans at Warsaw’s South Hospital to diagnostic work done on ancient Egyptian mummies. In a televised interview he said that scans of deceased patients were possible, citing Tutankhamun and Ramesses II as examples of mummy imaging. Critics, citing whistle‑blower Dr. Emil Jędrzejewski, argue the scans were performed not for scientific research but to justify medical billing.

The remarks prompted sharp reactions from journalists and commentators, including Krzysztof Stanowski, who denounced the comments as arrogant.
