Bartosz Kurek returns to competitive play in Japan

Bartosz Kurek has returned to professional volleyball following a self-imposed one-year hiatus from the Polish national team. The 38-year-old captain requested a break from coach Nikola Grbić to focus on his health and mental well-being after two decades of continuous competition.

Kurek made a strong impact in his return during the opening match of the Japanese SV League. Playing for Tokyo Great Bears, he led his team to a 3:2 victory over the Hokkaido Yellow Stars. Kurek scored 21 points, finishing as the match's top scorer.
