Bartosz Zmarzlik to leave Swedish Bauhaus-Ligan

World champion speedway rider Bartosz Zmarzlik is leaving Lejonen Gislaved and will not compete in the Swedish Bauhaus-Ligan next season. The departure follows controversial regulatory changes implemented by the Swedish federation, SVEMO.

To reduce costs and level the playing field, SVEMO and league organizers have announced a tire monopoly. Starting in 2027, the Czech company Mitas will become the exclusive tire supplier for all Swedish competitions, replacing the current practice where top riders invest heavily in specific brands like Anlas.

Anders Fröjd, manager of Lejonen Gislaved, criticized the federation's decision, suggesting the move to favor cheaper equipment for local riders has driven away international stars. Zmarzlik is expected to move to the Danish league.
