Baruipur: Explosion at Trinamool leader's house sparks bomb allegations

A powerful explosion rocked the Lalpol area of Baruipur, West Bengal, targeting the two-story residence of Trinamool Congress leader Dijen Mondal. The blast, which occurred late Thursday night, caused significant structural damage, including collapsed walls and shattered pillars, with debris reportedly thrown nearly 100 meters from the site.

While no fatalities have been reported, the incident has sparked intense political friction. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has alleged that the explosion was caused by the illegal stockpiling and mishandling of bombs at the residence. However, police have stated that no explosives have been recovered from the scene thus far.

Authorities, including the Baruipur police and fire services, responded to the scene to control the situation. Preliminary investigations by police suggest the blast may have been caused by a gas cylinder explosion. A forensic team has been called in to conduct a detailed investigation to determine the exact cause of the incident.
