Basarab Passage rehabilitation enters nighttime phase in Bucharest
Rehabilitation and maintenance works on the Basarab Passage in Bucharest have entered a new phase involving nighttime interventions. To accelerate the project and reduce the total construction duration, crews are working in two shifts from Monday to Saturday.
Due to the technical difficulty of working above railway infrastructure, specific interventions are scheduled between 01:30 and 03:30, during periods when train traffic is temporarily suspended by the railway company (CFR). These night works are expected to continue for approximately 45 nights, lasting until the beginning of December.
To date, teams have completed the cleaning of approximately 300 square meters of concrete surface and applied the first layer of primer to protect and restore the structure. These operations are preparatory steps for further rehabilitation of the passage elements.
