Basavaraj Bommai urges against politicizing ED raid on Satish Jarkiholi

Former Karnataka Chief Minister and BJP MP Basavaraj Bommai has stated that the Chief Minister should not politicize the Enforcement Directorate (ED) raid conducted on Karnataka Minister Satish Jarkiholi. Bommai emphasized that the legal matter should be resolved in court rather than through political maneuvering.

Supporting this stance, BJP MP Govind Karjol defended the ED, describing it as a constitutional institution. Karjol argued that investigations by the ED, CBI, and Income Tax department are not politically motivated, noting that such investigations occurred under various previous Congress-led administrations.

In separate political exchanges, Bommai addressed allegations from Congress leaders regarding cloud seeding and drought study norms. He cited a 2000 CAG report regarding cloud seeding and noted that compensation for dryland farming increased from Rs 2,000 per hectare under the UPA government to Rs 6,500 during his administration.
