DeNA defeats Hanshin to advance to Japan Series

The Yokohama DeNA BayStars have secured their place in the Japan Series after defeating the Hanshin Tigers in the Climax Series (CS) Final Stage. Hanshin, despite winning the Central League title earlier this season, suffered a four-game sweep in the postseason.

DeNA's success was driven by dominant pitching performances. The team's starting rotation maintained a 0.80 ERA across six CS games, while the relief corps posted a 0.89 ERA. Key contributors included reliever Reynolds, who recorded five saves in five appearances, and starter Koshin Katayama, who pitched seven scoreless innings in the third game.

Hanshin's postseason campaign was hampered by offensive struggles and injuries to key players like Teruaki Sato and Shota Morishita. Although Morishita returned to the lineup in the final game and hit two home runs, Hanshin was unable to overcome DeNA's pitching in the ninth inning, resulting in an 8-5 loss and their elimination from the series.
