Baseball prospects Suzuki and Takekawa submit professional aspiration forms
Several notable baseball prospects have submitted their professional aspiration forms ahead of the 2026 NPB Draft, scheduled for October 22.
Yugo Suzuki, a versatile “two-way” player from Chukyo High School, has officially declared his intent to go professional. Suzuki, a right-handed pitcher capable of reaching 148 km/h, is also recognized for his offensive abilities in the infield and outfield. He recently led Chukyo to its first summer Koshien appearance in seven years and has gained international experience playing for the U-18 Japan representative team.
Haru Takekawa, a right-handed pitcher from Nihon University’s semi-hardball baseball club, has also submitted his professional aspiration form. Marking a first for his club, the 22-year-old has seen his fastball velocity increase to 152 km/h. Takekawa recently participated in the North American Summer League in Missouri, USA, to further develop his skills before the upcoming draft.
