Protests and demonstrations occur across Switzerland and Germany

Various demonstrations and protests have taken place across Switzerland and Germany. In Bern, Switzerland, thousands of people marched to advocate for asylum rights and migration protections, protesting against stricter legislation and the exclusion of non-citizens from social and political life.

In the same city, the Swiss Parliament is considering a law that would require demonstration organizers to cover police costs. This follows a pro-Palestine rally in Bern that resulted in significant police intervention, injuries, and costs estimated at 1.1 million francs.

In Germany, Christopher Street Day (CSD) events were held in Kaiserslautern and Bernau. In Kaiserslautern, the Pride season concluded with a large turnout supporting queer visibility. In Bernau, hundreds of people marched for LGBTQ+ rights despite a small counter-protest by a far-right group.

Additionally, a peaceful demonstration involving approximately 1,500 participants took place in Basel, Switzerland, following a planned route through the city center.
