Basento-Bradano water scheme faces scrutiny over reduced scope

Piero Lacorazza, the Democratic Party group leader in the Regional Council, has raised concerns regarding the Basento-Bradano water scheme project. During a hearing in the III Commission, Lacorazza noted that the project, originally funded in 2001, has undergone significant changes.

The scope of the work has been reduced from serving approximately 13,000 hectares to roughly 5,000 hectares. Lacorazza questioned whether this reduction, implemented as a variant to secure funding, remains the most effective solution for the agricultural needs of the Alto Bradano region or if alternative project designs should be considered.
