BASF hosts chemistry excursion for Neustadt students

Students from class 9a of the Kurfürst-Ruprecht-Gymnasium in Neustadt participated in an educational excursion to BASF. The visit focused on the practical application of chemistry, specifically regarding UV protection and cosmetics.

During the session, experts provided theoretical introductions using models to demonstrate how UV radiation affects the skin and how modern filters provide protection. Students engaged in hands-on laboratory work, using professional equipment to conduct experiments on how various materials, such as sunscreen and tightly woven cotton, block UV rays.
