BASF mandates banks for Agricultural Solutions IPO
BASF has appointed Citi, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs, and J.P. Morgan as global coordinators for the planned initial public offering (IPO) of its Agricultural Solutions division. The company aims for the unit to be market-ready by mid-2027, with the intention of listing it as an independent Societas Europaea on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
The Agricultural Solutions division, which includes plant protection, seeds, and digital agricultural solutions, generated 9.6 billion euros in revenue last year. BASF noted that while the goal is set for 2027, a final decision regarding the exact timing and execution of the IPO remains subject to capital market conditions.
Operative separation is already well underway, with approximately 80 percent of the global business already running through independent companies using a specialized ERP system. BASF plans to provide a strategic and operational overview of the business unit during a capital markets day on November 24.
