BASF targets 2027 IPO for Agricultural Solutions division

BASF is advancing its corporate restructuring, specifically targeting a 2027 initial public offering (IPO) for its Agricultural Solutions division on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. The legal and operational separation of the division is largely complete in Europe, North America, and South America, with the process in Asia expected to conclude by the end of the year. Deutsche Bank and Goldman Sachs are serving as financial advisors for the move.

To strengthen the agricultural unit ahead of the spin-off, BASF is investing a low double-digit million amount into a new ‘Climate Center’ at its Limburgerhof site to enhance research and regulatory approval capabilities. Additionally, the company has entered a strategic partnership with Thailand-based NEO Corporate to develop personal care formulations for the Asia-Pacific market and has opened a new performance lab in Mumbai.

This restructuring follows a recent transaction involving the coatings business with Carlyle, which resulted in a pre-tax cash inflow of approximately 5.8 billion euros. While the company is actively reshaping its portfolio, it has temporarily halted a planned sale of roughly 3,300 company apartments due to market conditions that did not meet price expectations.
