Bash Co. releases new single ‘Velvet’ inspired by Prague

Portuguese songwriter Bash Co. has released a new single titled ‘Velvet’, released on March 22, 2026. The track was written during a six-day trip to Prague and is described as a deeply personal love song about enduring affection through difficult times.

The composition incorporates various historical and cultural references, including the 1989 Velvet Revolution, the Iron Curtain, and the works of Franz Kafka. The production features a rhythmic shift in the second half, where the drums mimic the sound of marching troops as a sonic nod to the historical events that inspired the title.

Based in Vila Nova de Gaia, Bash Co. has been composing music since 1999. He maintains an independent approach to his work, treating songwriting as a personal creative outlet rather than a commercial pursuit. The single was released on the artist's birthday.
