Bashir Ahmad Denies 16‑Vote Claim in APC Primary

Former presidential aide Bashir Ahmad, who serves as National Director of Media Monitoring and Rapid Response for the City Boy Movement, rejected a viral claim by Afrobeats star David Adeleke (Davido) that he received only 16 votes in the 2022 All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primary.

Ahmad said no credible primary election was held, alleging the process was rigged and that he has video evidence to support the allegation. He urged Davido and his supporters to stop circulating the figure, stating the numbers are misleading and do not reflect a legitimate primary. Ahmad promised to release further details about the disputed exercise at a later date.
