Bashir Sa’idu pledges 11 Zazzau LGAs to APC following defection

Bashir Sa’idu, a former Chief of Staff and Commissioner of Finance to former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, has defected from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Sa’idu pledged to deliver all 11 Local Government Areas within the Zazzau Emirate to the APC in upcoming elections. He claimed to have moved with approximately 10,000 supporters, including over 3,000 card-carrying ADC members from the Lere Local Government Area. Sa’idu also asserted political influence in the Igabi and Kaduna South Local Government Areas, vowing to secure higher vote counts in Zaria than those previously recorded for former President Muhammadu Buhari.

The move is intended to demonstrate Sa’idu’s political strength and counter claims that his defection lacked a significant follower base. His supporters are reportedly developing strategies to secure victory for the ruling party in the region.
