Basiera Sankara declares bid for NDC National Youth Organiser

Basiera Sankara, the Upper West Regional Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has formally declared his intention to run for the position of National Youth Organiser for the party. The announcement was made during an NDC Upper West Regional Youth Wing and Tertiary Education Institutions Network (TEIN) retreat in Wa on August 22, 2026.

Sankara cited his experience in youth mobilisation, governance, and grassroots leadership as key qualifications for the role. He pledged to develop a united and resource-empowered youth wing. During the retreat, Wa West Member of Parliament Peter Lanchene Toobu advised young party members to focus on capacity building and patience as the party works to address national challenges.
