Basilicata advances S.C.A.C.Co. law for youth engagement

The Basilicata Regional Council's IV Commission has unanimously approved regulatory adjustments for the S.C.A.C.Co. law (Service of Active Citizenship for Culture and Social Cohesion). Established by regional law n. 17 on March 19, 2025, the initiative aims to provide young people in the Lucania region with opportunities for civic engagement, training, and personal growth.

Key benefits of the law include access to cultural projects, Erasmus-style opportunities, and a dedicated card for youth involved in these programs to facilitate access to various services. Piero Lacorazza, the leader of the Democratic Party in the Regional Council and the law's primary signatory, stated that the goal is to create a concrete tool for community participation and social cohesion.
