Basilicata health officials address eating disorders in Bernalda
During a training session held at the ‘Domus Padri Trinitari’ center in Bernalda, Basilicata Regional Health Councilor Cosimo Latronico addressed the critical issue of eating and nutritional disorders (DNA) among young people.
Latronico emphasized that early detection is both a clinical priority and a moral duty. He highlighted the necessity of creating a strong alliance between hospital structures and local territorial medicine to ensure comprehensive and early care for complex, multi-problematic cases.
The event also recognized the work of the Child Neuropsychiatry department at Matera Hospital, specifically noting the contributions of Chief Physician Raffaella Devescovi and Dr. Nunzia Lobefaro. Latronico stated that strengthening socio-sanitary integration and dialogue between hospitals and local services is the essential path to supporting families facing these pathologies.
