Basilicata health union urges early dialogue on new regional prevention plan
The Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance has approved the National Prevention Plan for 2026‑2031, setting priorities, objectives and standards for public health actions across the country. In Basilicata, the Cisl trade union is pressing the regional government to begin discussions on its own regional prevention plan, emphasizing the need to integrate the "One Health" approach that links human, animal and environmental health.
Cisl Basilicata secretary Luana Franchini highlighted two key deadlines: by 30 September regions must upload data to the national platform to assess alignment with the national plan, and by 31 December 2026 they must formally adopt their regional prevention plans. The union argues that the new framework should address existing disparities in service access and quality, ensuring equity, inter‑sectoral coordination, training, communication and transparency throughout the region.
