Basilicata regional updates: water services, co-working proposals, and infrastructure investments

Various regional developments are underway in Basilicata. Officials and consumer groups recently met to address critical issues with the Acquedotto Lucano water service, including infrastructure maintenance, service interruptions, and communication delays. The utility provider noted that energy costs for water lifting reach approximately 32 million euros annually.

To mitigate the impact of rising fuel costs on commuters, regional councilor Roberto Cifarelli and the Cisl union are advocating for a regional co-working network. This proposal suggests using existing public administrative buildings to allow for proximity-based work, reducing the need for long-distance travel.

In terms of infrastructure, the Basilicata Region has formalized agreements to invest over 2 million euros in the Alto Bradano area to improve secondary and provincial road networks, specifically targeting connections in Tolve, Forenza, and Banzi.

Additionally, regarding energy, regional and national authorities have confirmed that oil extraction limits for Val d’Agri and Tempa Rossa remain unchanged, despite efforts to enhance national energy independence through streamlined authorization processes.
