Basilicata President Marcello Pittella Honors Paralympic Long Jump Champion Raffaele Tancredi

Regional President Marcello Pittella met with 21‑year‑old paralympic athlete Raffaele Tancredi in Potenza on July 28. Tancredi was presented with a plaque after capturing the Italian FISDIR long‑jump title (6.68 m) in the II1 classification and competing on the national FIDAL circuit.

Pittella praised Tancredi’s “dedication and determination,” saying his victory “goes beyond the athletic result – it tells a story of courage and determination that makes all of Basilicata proud.” The ceremony highlighted the regional council’s commitment to supporting and promoting local sporting talent.
