Basilicata President Vito Bardi meets with university rector and students

Basilicata President Vito Bardi held institutional meetings to discuss education and student welfare in the region. Bardi met with Fabrizio Caccavale, the new Rector of the University of Basilicata, to reinforce the partnership between the regional government and the academic institution. Discussions focused on enhancing educational offerings, promoting scientific research, and creating local employment opportunities to retain young talent in the territory.

Additionally, Bardi met with a student delegation led by Italo Marsico, President of the Provincial Student Council of Potenza. The meeting addressed rising costs for fuel, school materials, and mobility. To support students, the Basilicata Region has allocated approximately 17 million euros in 2026 for the right to study and inclusivity. This includes a specific 1.9 million euro allocation to provide free or partially subsidized textbooks for students from lower-income families in secondary schools.
