Basilicata promotes wine and agro-food tourism at La Sfida del Torchio

Francesco Cupparo, the regional assessor for productive activities in Basilicata, attended the opening of ‘La Sfida del Torchio’ in Rionero in Vulture. The event aims to promote the Vulture region's wine-making traditions and strengthen the local economy through agro-food and enotourism.

Cupparo emphasized that the regional government views these sectors as strategic pillars for economic growth. He noted that the initiative helps integrate identity, quality production, and tourism to boost the competitiveness of internal areas. The region has also recognized a coalition of 14 Lucanian municipalities as the ‘Italian City of Wine’ for 2026.
