Basilicata regional councilors question Formez PA selection transparency

Regional councilors Angelo Chiorazzo and Giovanni Vizziello of the Basilicata Casa Comune group have raised concerns regarding the transparency of selection procedures for projects funded by the Basilicata Region through Formez PA.

The councilors noted several coincidences in the lists of selected professionals, including individuals who are collaborators of regional councilors, people holding or having held political positions, and certain names linked to the same family circles. While stating they are not questioning the professional competence of those selected, they have called for clarity on how scores were assigned and how winners were identified.

In response, the councilors are submitting a written inquiry to Regional President Vito Bardi. They are seeking detailed reports on the resources committed, the specific assignments granted, the selection procedures used, and the reasons for repeated contract extensions. The inquiry follows claims that regional departments have failed to provide complete responses to previous requests for access to documents over the past four months.
