Basilicata regional updates: CONI appointments and Futuro Nazionale protests
The Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI) in Basilicata has appointed new regional trustees to strengthen its local presence. President Giovanni Salvia stated the initiative aims to bridge geographical gaps and provide support to sports associations in smaller municipalities, ensuring accessibility regardless of location. The new trustees represent various areas, including Potenza, Matera, the Southern Area, Sinnica, the Ionian Area, Valdagri, the Potentina Area, Marmo-Platano, Bradano, Vulture-Melfese, and the Matera Hills.
Separately, the political movement Futuro Nazionale Basilicata has announced a series of public mobilizations across the region. Led by regional manager Giulio Curatella, the group will host information stands in several towns, including Lavello, Viggianello, Matera, Potenza, Venosa, Policoro, and Montescaglioso. The campaign focuses on two primary issues: public security and rising fuel costs. The movement is calling for increased support for law enforcement and tax relief on fuel to assist farmers, transporters, and businesses.
