Basilicata sees 10.4% growth in R&D spending

Data released by Istat indicates that Southern Italy is leading national growth in Research and Development (R&D) spending, with an overall increase of 8.9%. Within this trend, the Basilicata region has emerged as a prominent leader, recording a double-digit growth rate of 10.4%.

Regional President Vito Bardi attributed this increase to strategic corporate decisions, the quality of local research centers, the excellence of the University of Basilicata, and the contributions of young researchers and entrepreneurs. Bardi stated that investing in R&D is a structural response to energy, industrial, and digital transition challenges, aimed at retaining and attracting talent to the region.
