Basin Recreation's Downhill & Grill Returns Aug. 8 with Free BBQ in Park City

Basin Recreation will host its annual Downhill & Grill festival on Saturday, Aug. 8, at Trailside Bike Park in Park City, Utah. The free community event runs from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and combines an evening of mountain‑bike riding with complimentary barbecue, live music and family‑friendly activities.

Children ages 6 to 12 can attend a free mountain‑bike skills clinic led by Basin Recreation coaches, while the final race of the Tiny Tires Showdown – a balance‑bike series for riders under four – will take place later in the afternoon. Registration for the clinic and the race is required in advance, but no registration is needed to enjoy the barbecue. Events coordinator Hanna Markel said, “So far, it’s been awesome. Lots of big smiles,” noting the strong community response and the opportunity for families to explore local parks together.
