Salernitana coach Serse Cosmi dismissed after Picerno defeat

Salernitana has dismissed head coach Serse Cosmi following a heavy 3-0 defeat against Picerno in Serie C. The loss, which saw goals from Gemignani, Rillo, and Pugliese, followed a period of poor performance and tension between the technical staff and the club's leadership.

Sporting director Daniele Faggiano expressed deep shame regarding the team's performance, stating that the club is in a precarious position. The dismissal comes after the club had previously reaffirmed its confidence in Cosmi despite pressure from supporters.

Several candidates are being considered to replace Cosmi, including Eziolino Capuano, Fabio Prosperi, and Mimmo Toscano. The club's management, led by president Danilo Iervolino, is expected to make a decision shortly to stabilize the team's position in the standings.
