Basketball clubs unveil new rosters for upcoming seasons

Several basketball clubs have officially presented their rosters for upcoming seasons.

In Uruguay, Club Plaza de Deportes introduced its team for the 2026 Primera División of the Colonia Basketball League. Led by coach Pascual Formeliano, the squad integrates experienced players with youth from the club’s developmental divisions. The presentation included the debut of a retro-style official uniform honoring the club’s history, including its 1976 championship. Following a third-place finish last season, the club aims to secure the championship this year.

In Argentina, Bartolomé Mitre de Posadas presented its roster for the Liga Argentina de Básquet, the nation’s second division. Following their promotion as 2026 Liga Federal champions, the Misiones-based club will be led by coach Matías Martinho. The squad features a mix of senior players and U21 and U19 prospects, marking what club president Sebastián Macias described as a historic moment for basketball in the province.
