Basketball development expands through youth clinics and new training centers

Basketball initiatives are expanding in the Caribbean and Central America through youth clinics and new infrastructure projects. In Santo Domingo, Dominican basketball player Jean Montero hosted a sports clinic at the Mauricio Báez Club. Organized alongside JE Sports Agency, the event focused on teaching discipline, motivation, and technical skills to young athletes. Montero used the platform to discuss the importance of education and family support in achieving athletic goals.

In Honduras, the National Commission of Sports, Physical Education, and Recreation (CONDEPOR) is establishing a new Basketball Sports Training Center in La Ceiba. Led by Sports Minister Gerardo Fajardo, the project aims to decentralize sports training and provide better facilities for children and youth in the Atlantic region. Vice Minister Armando Vinicio Valdés recently inspected the site to assess infrastructure needs and deliver initial sports equipment to support local training.
