In East New Sarajevo, a 3x3 basketball tournament for local communities has commenced as part of the ‘Summer in East New Sarajevo’ event. Running from August 24 to August 29, the tournament features teams competing in a league system, with a total prize fund of 135,000 KM.

Separately, the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Sarajevo Canton announced its financial support for the Bosnia and Herzegovina men's U16 national basketball team during their participation in the European Championship Division B in North Macedonia. The team achieved a fourth-place finish. Minister Kenan Magoda stated that supporting young athletes is an investment in the future of Bosnian sports.
