Basketball League of Serbia season begins with Hercogovac victory

The new season of the Basketball League of Serbia (KLS) has officially commenced. Following a period of administrative uncertainty regarding the competition calendar, it was agreed that clubs will maintain management of the competition under their own schedules.

In the opening matchups, Hercogovac from Gajdobra secured a 75:65 away victory against Niš MaxBet. The win was driven by a dominant third quarter where Hercogovac outscored their opponents 25:9. Stevan Jovanović and Pavle Stepanović led the scoring with 14 points each, while the team shot 86.7% from the free-throw line.

In another fixture, KK Vojvodina is set to face Mladost Zemun. Vojvodina has undergone significant roster changes, including a partnership with a Dubai-based team to integrate younger players. The squad has been bolstered by the return of Uroš Banjac and the addition of veteran captain Bursać, alongside several new signings such as Nemanja Popović, as the club aims for a high placement and an ABA League spot.
