Basketball: Lanús wins Liga Nacional opener; Regatas loses Sudamericana debut

In the Liga Nacional de Básquetbol, Lanús secured its first victory of the 2026/27 season by defeating Oberá Tenis Club 67-58. The win, led by Pedro Bombino Parada who recorded a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds, follows a preseason loss to Gimnasia de Comodoro Rivadavia. The match featured the debuts of new additions Nicolás Brussino and Bombino Parada.

In international competition, Regatas Corrientes suffered a defeat in their Liga Sudamericana de Baloncesto debut in Loja, Ecuador. Facing Nacional de Montevideo, the Argentine side lost 106-96 in Group B. Regatas struggled with roster limitations due to visa issues for Elian Centeno and several players fouling out. Despite scoring efforts from Fausto Ruesga (21 points) and Iván Gramajo (15 points), Nacional utilized strong performances from Luismal Ferreiras and Andrew Goudelock to secure the win.

Additionally, Tomás de Rocamora concluded its preseason friendly series with a 91-83 loss to Central Entrerriano, led by Juan Siboldi's 22 points.
