Technical manager José Correa noted that the format aims to maximize playing time, with the regular season leading into playoffs that conclude by December 21.

In international basketball, the Spanish women's national team has finalized its 12-player roster for the 2026 Women's Basketball World Cup in Berlin. Head coach Miguel Méndez has selected a squad that blends veteran leadership, such as captain Alba Torrens, with younger talent and players from the WNBA. The team enters the tournament following a series of friendly matches aimed at preparing for the competition held from September 4 to 13.
