Baskonia and Alex Len part ways after nine days

Ukrainian center Alex Len and the Spanish basketball club Baskonia have mutually agreed to terminate his two-year contract, just nine days after its signing. The decision follows physical complications Len experienced in his foot during his first training session with the team.

Len had successfully passed his initial medical examinations upon arriving in Vitoria. However, the discomfort recurred in an area previously treated during his time with Real Madrid. After seeking additional medical opinions, both parties determined that terminating the agreement was the best course of action, allowing Len to focus on full recovery without competitive pressure.

Len expressed his gratitude to the Baskonia staff, players, and fans for their professionalism during his brief tenure. The departure occurs just ahead of Baskonia’s EuroLeague season opener against Olympiacos, leaving the team to rely on Kenneth Faried as their primary center.
