Baskonia dismisses coach Paolo Galbiati, appoints Velimir Perasović

Spanish basketball club Baskonia has officially parted ways with head coach Paolo Galbiati following a difficult start to the EuroLeague season. The club reported a record of one win and four losses in five EuroLeague matches, including three consecutive home defeats.

Despite the struggles in European competition, Baskonia has maintained a perfect 3-0 record in the domestic Liga Endesa. However, the management decided to act during the EuroLeague double round to address the team's performance crisis. Galbiati leaves after leading the team through 87 total games, most notably winning the Copa del Rey last February.

Velimir Perasović is set to return for his fourth stint as head coach of the Vitoria-based team. Perasović, who recently ended his contract with UNICS Kazan, is expected to lead the squad as they attempt to stabilize their standing in elite European competition.
