Basílica de Caacupé begins renovations for December festivities

Renovation works have begun at the Basílica Santuario de Caacupé in preparation for the religious festivities on December 8. The improvements, funded by the binational entity Itaipú, include work on the esplanade, walkways, and the exterior lighting system. Other repairs involve painting perimeter railings, fixing the staircase to the upper floor, and reconditioning the confession room.

To assist the expected influx of pilgrims, approximately 500 volunteers and the Basilica Pastoral Council are organizing to provide aid to devotees. The official launch of the 'Operativo Fiesta de Caacupé 2026' is scheduled for November 13, with the novena period set to begin on November 28.
