Basovizza Naturalistic Didactic Center opens ‘ScopriNatura’ enrollment
The Basovizza Naturalistic Didactic Center (Cdn) has opened applications for the ‘ScopriNatura’ project for the 2026/2027 school year. Managed by the regional forestry corps and proposed by the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, this environmental education initiative has been active for over twenty years.
The program is designed for primary and secondary schools, covering topics such as forest characteristics, climate change, Carso geology, invasive species, and forest fires. Activities include guided excursions in the Trieste province or classroom lessons. For primary schools, the program incorporates sensory learning based on forest pedagogy and Earth education methodologies.
In 2025, the center conducted 160 appointments, including 130 educational interventions involving approximately 2,300 students. Despite ongoing maintenance work at the visitor center, educational activities have continued through outdoor paths and classroom sessions.
