Basque Government allocates 15 million euros to agri-food and forestry
The Basque Government has launched the ‘Lehiatu Inversión’ program, allocating 14.7 million euros to support investments in the agricultural, food, and forestry industries. The initiative aims to strengthen the competitiveness of the food sector, increase the added value of local production, and foster a more innovative and sustainable ecosystem.
The program includes several specific funding lines:
• Lehiatu Nekazari: 7.5 million euros for the transformation, marketing, or development of agricultural products. • Lehiatu Egurra: 2 million euros dedicated to investments within the forestry sector. • Lehiatu Ekologikoa: 1 million euros focused on organic food within the Basque agricultural and food industries. • Lehiatu Ekoizpen: 1 million euros for various investment projects in the agricultural and food industries that do not fall under previous categories, excluding wine and fish/aquaculture products.
