Basque Government allocates 17.3 million euros for music education

The Basque Government has approved two subsidy calls totaling 17,345,000 euros to support music education for the 2025-2026 academic year. Proposed by Education Minister Begoña Pedrosa, the funding aims to cover personnel, operational, and equipment costs.

The largest portion, 14.45 million euros, is allocated to municipal music schools and conservatories providing regulated basic and professional training. An additional 2.895 million euros is designated for private institutions. Within the private sector allocation, 2.5 million euros is earmarked for schools receiving at least 25% municipal funding, while the remaining 395,000 euros will support other private schools and Authorized Professional Music Centers.
