Basque Government mobilizes 678 million euros in private investment
The Basque Government has mobilized 678 million euros in private investment as part of its Euskadi 2030 Industrial Plan. To date, 17 initiatives have been launched out of an estimated 25, consisting of 11 public and six private projects.
Key projects include a 36 million euro initiative by the company Lasai focused on electric boats, and a Renewable Fuels Hub based at the Energy Intelligence Center (EIC) to coordinate technological and scientific capabilities. Other highlighted sectors include aeronautical engine architectures for sustainable aviation, smart hydrogels for nanomedicine, and zero-emission marine vessels.
These initiatives are expected to create more than 3,800 jobs and support 159 other companies within the Basque industrial fabric. This movement is part of a broader goal by the regional executive to drive 12 billion euros in total private investment.
