Basque Region Expands Public Transport with New Vitoria Bus Line and Pamplona‑Lekunberri Bike Route

The municipal transport authority TUVISA has opened line 11 in Vitoria‑Gasteiz, a transversal bus route with 26 stops that links the Zabalgana district to Lakua‑Arriaga. The line offers 20 new stops and six existing ones, improving connections to the hospital, bus station, Basque government offices and the Social Security Treasury, and enabling transfers with lines 7, 10, 11, the BEI and the tram.

On 20 June, the Plazaola Tourist Consortium will host a new edition of Ziklotour, a cycling event that reconnects Pamplona and Lekunberri along the former railway now called the Vía Verde del Plazaola. The tour promotes sustainable mobility and tourism, includes a pilot accessibility project with adapted bicycles funded by EU Next Generation funds, and offers transport, bike rental and guide services for participants.
