BASSRA denies rejecting Bangkalan industrialization plans

The Badan Silaturahmi Ulama Pesantren Madura (BASSRA) has denied reports that the organization has officially rejected industrial development plans in Bangkalan, East Java.

BASSRA Secretary General KH Syafik Rofi’i clarified that while discussions regarding the development direction of Bangkalan took place during an organizational meeting, no formal decision or consensus was reached. He noted that various views were expressed, including suggestions to prioritize provincial-level interests, but emphasized that these were individual perspectives rather than institutional stances.

Rofi’i stated that it is incorrect to claim BASSRA has decided to oppose industrialization, noting that the meeting in question was not intended to produce a public official statement and remains open for further discussion.
