Bastar schools face safety risks as 124 buildings are dilapidated

In the Bastar district of Chhattisgarh, 124 schools have been identified as being in a highly dilapidated condition, posing significant safety risks to students. The total includes 76 primary schools and 48 secondary schools.

Due to the structural instability of these buildings, including cracked walls and damaged roofs, students are being moved to additional rooms or other safe locations to prevent accidents. The District Education Officer has issued strict instructions to Block Education Officers (BEOs) and Block Resource Coordinators (BRCs) to ensure that no children are taught in buildings that pose a physical threat.
