Bastia announces 2026 European Heritage Days themes

The 2026 edition of the European Heritage Days in Bastia will focus on two primary themes: “Photography Heritage” and “Heritage in Peril: Revive, Resist, Reimagine.” To celebrate the 200th anniversary of photography, the city has organized a photographic collection from the local population, which will be showcased in the exhibition “Memoria visuale di Bastia” at the museum auditorium.

The three-day program includes approximately forty activities, such as guided tours, conferences in both French and Corsican, historical reenactments, and concerts. Locations featured include the Citadel, the Old Port, Place Saint-Nicolas, and Cardu. To engage younger generations, the event will offer interactive demonstrations, including medieval combat in armor and historical reconstructions.
