Bastia Umbra administration criticized over event planning failures

In Bastia Umbra, a coalition of center-right parties and civic groups has criticized the administration of Mayor Pecci following organizational issues during the FAI Autumn Days. While the event advertised guided tours of the San Paolo delle Abbadesse church and the local monumental cemetery, the cemetery was inaccessible due to safety cordons.

Critics point out that although safety measures were necessary, the timing of the mayor's ordinance—signed on October 9, just before the event—suggests poor planning. They note that design work and documentation for the cemetery's safety had been in progress since late 2025 and early 2026, yet the immediate closure during a major tourist event indicates a failure to coordinate services with public announcements.
