Bastia Umbra fire investigation underway after new blaze

A new fire broke out on Sunday evening, September 6, in the green path area of Bastia Umbra, located between the Post Office and the 25 Aprile walkway. Firefighters (Vigili del Fuoco) intervened to extinguish the flames, which covered a wide area.

Following the suppression of the fire, the Carabinieri launched an investigation to determine the cause. An individual was identified by authorities and taken to the station for questioning, though no official charges or responsibility have been assigned at this time. Investigators are also reviewing video footage recorded by local youths, which may provide critical evidence regarding the events leading up to the fire.
